Jim Bradbury, Texas A&M University School of Law adjunct professor and partner at James D. Bradbury PLLC, received the Excellence in Agricultural Law in Private Practice Award from the American Agricultural Law Association during the association’s annual conference and 40th anniversary in Washington, D.C.

The AALA’s Excellence in Agricultural Law Awards recognizes AALA members for outstanding
contributions to the legal profession and the agricultural community. These awards may acknowledge members from professional sectors, including private practice, academia, government and nongovernmental organizations.

“Jim’s service to the agriculture community is well known throughout Texas,” said AALA president, Amber Miller of the Lubbock, Texas firm Crenshaw, Dupree & Milam.

“Anytime an issue impacting agriculture or private property rights is in front of the Texas Supreme Court, you can bet that Jim has been hired by not one, but several, statewide agricultural trade associations to author an amicus brief on the issue. Jim’s commercial litigation, appellate and administrative law practice focuses on the needs of his clients, and his pragmatic nature means that he approaches issues in a straightforward and direct manner. He offers solutions to his clients and to the agricultural community as a whole that are a product of strategic thinking and focused representation.”

After practicing over 16 years with some of the largest law firms in Texas, in 2007 Jim founded his own firm, James D. Bradbury PLLC, with offices in Austin and Ft. Worth.

“Jim’s keen legal mind and business acumen are of such great value to our organization, and just as importantly, we all value the level of practicality, humor and wit that he also brings to our organization,” said Miller.

A Texas native, Bradbury earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1988 and his Juris Doctor in 1991 from the University of Idaho.
