Texas A&M Law Students Compete, Place in Legal Competitions

Several Texas A&M Law students competed in multiple national mock trial and moot court competitions throughout November. They made their presence felt, with some groups placing and moving on to their next rounds.

The Mock Trial Team placed 2nd overall in the Puerto Rico Trial Advocacy Competition held in San Juan. The team included 3Ls Carol Barrera, Derek Hudiburg and Victoria Miller, and 2L Josh Kennedy. They were coached by Matthew Jackson 13.

The Health Law Moot Court Team placed 5th out of 26 total teams at the Health Law Moot Court Competition held in Carbondale, IL. The team included 2Ls Ann Johnson, Ethan Rousso, and Ian Stephens. They were coached by Nikki Chriesman-Green ’09.

Most recently, students in the Texas A&M Advocacy Program competed in the ABA Negotiation Virtual Regional Competition, hosted by Seattle University Law School. The group won the regional championship and will advance to the national finals in February. The team included 2Ls Anna Eckhoff and Max Voboril. Other competing teams included 3L Rashid Eldoma and 2Ls Peyton Wakefield, Roman Madoerin, and Victoria Adams. Each team was coached by Lynne Nash ’16.

The 2024 ABA National Competition will be held in Chicago on February 2-3, 2024.
